Guy FERRER settles into French Catalonia

Guy FERRER in the spotlight at several venues in PERPIGNAN, his home town and the city close to his heart
We are pleased to present the spring and summer 2024 schedule of sculptor and painter Guy FERRER. A period rich in events and exhibitions, taking place in the city (and its surroundings) where he has lived since returning from abroad, more than 15 years ago now, and where his art studio is located.
"ANIMAUX 2.0", Musée d'Histoire Naturelle de Perpignan
The Natural History Museum is hosting six works by the artist Guy FERRER. A selection of sculptures and works on paper inspired by his travels and his many artist residencies abroad. They blend harmoniously with the museum's rich and diverse collections, in particular its magnificent collection of exotic birds.
Take time for a change of scene on your next visit to the museum!
On view from May 18, 2024 to March 9, 2025
Musée d'Histoire Naturelle, 12 rue Fontaine Neuve, 66000 Perpignan
"LES VOYANTS", Musée Terrus in Elne (south of Perpignan)
The artist will occupy both floors with a series of works inspired by a mummy head from the collection of Jacques Kerchache, the great collector who initiated the creation of the Musée du Quai Branly.
On view from June 7 to September 15, 2024
Musée Terrus, 3 rue Porte Balaguer, 66200 Elne
"PETITS TRÉSORS", Galerie Castang Art Project, in the heart of Perpignan
The exhibition "Petits Trésors", in which painter and sculptor Guy Ferrer and ethnic art collector Pascal Lacombe invite us to discover their pieces in the intimate setting of the Galerie Castang Art Project, could be summed up in these four lines by Baudelaire:
« Étonnants voyageurs ! quelles nobles histoires
Nous lisons dans vos yeux profonds comme les mers !
Montrez-nous les écrins de vos riches mémoires,
Ces bijoux merveilleux, faits d'astres et d'éthers. »
An exhibition in which the Gold of the Sacred sits magnificently alongside precious statuettes of Arts Premiers, showing the perfect osmosis between the works of an artist-traveler and the choices of a traveler-collector.
On view from July 3 to August 4, 2024
Galerie Castang Art Project, 3 Place Gambetta, 66000 Perpignan
"THÉOLOGIE DES ARTS", session featuring Guy Ferrer
An immersive and enriching session entitled "Théologie des Arts", featuring Guy Ferrer, whose works question spirituality and humanity.
Step into a world where art meets the sacred, guided by speakers renowned in their respective artistic fields. The session will be led by Mr. Florent Dumontier, poet and senior lecturer at the Theologicum of the Institut Catholique de Paris. This major artistic event, organized by the Centre Théologique Raimon Llull, a pillar of diocesan training, is a unique opportunity to discover how theology and the arts intertwine to elevate the mind and enrich the soul.
